Dagger presented to British Geographer who gave his name to moon crater for auction - April 23
A historic Russian dagger presented by Paval Anosoff, Director of the Zlatoust Steel Works, to Sir Roderick Murchison dated 1841 is estimated to sell for between £6,000 to £8,000 at Bonhams next sale of Arms and Armour in Knightsbridge on April 23.
David Williams, Director of Antique Arms and Armour at Bonhams said: “It is rare to find a dagger with such impeccable provenance, and showing the early and important scientific links between Russia and Great Britain.”
