A collection of previously unseen paintings, letters, diaries and photographs from artist Francis Bacon’s “famously chaotic” studio goes on sale today.

Music auction raises millions for charity

A fundraising auction of music memorabilia including The Edge’s guitar and Bono’s sunglasses shattered expectations and raised a record $2.4 million this weekend.

Sothebys Islamic Art Auction Beats Pre-Sale Estimate

Sotheby’s sold 4.6 million pounds ($8.8 million) of Islamic art, almost a quarter more than the pre-sale estimate.

Titanic keys sell for 100k

Keys to the Titanic’s post room have sold for more than £100,000.
The sale took place at Henry Aldridge & Son auction house in Devizes, Wiltshire.
The hammer price was £90,000, to which a buyer`s premium was added, taking the total fee paid to £101,750, far in excess of the £30,000-to-£50,000 estimate.
