Thomson Roddick open new saleroom in Dumfries

Thomson Roddick Scottish Auctions have held sales in Annan for over 100 years and also at Easterbrook Hall in Dumfries.
The firm, which also has premises in Edinburgh and Shaddongate, Carlisle, has now set up a new sales room in Irongray Road, Dumfries.

Thieves snatch antiques haul

DETECTIVES are hunting for thieves who stole thousands of pounds worth of antiques from a South Lakes farmhouse.
The £4,000 haul of valuable antiques was snatched from the property near Satterthwaite, between Friday February 9 and Tuesday February 13.

British poultry banned from Irish fairs

Minister for Agriculture Mary Coughlan has banned the transport of British poultry to bird fairs in Ireland.
The measure is being introduced in response to an outbreak of the deadly H5N1 strain of the virus on a turkey farm in the Suffolk area.
